Bright Coats
My winter wardrobe seems to teeter towards black, grey and charcoal (which is really just a variance of black and grey)....boring!
While out shopping the other day, (after picking up yet another charcoal sweater) I realized that my tendency to lean toward grey in winter is due to the fact that there really aren't very many colorful options to choose from. This is why I love the idea of a bright coat. It's perfect! It still let's you keep your black and charcoal wardrobe, but adds just enough "pop" to brighten up any outfit.
Finding colorful options wasn't really that easy. Here some I found:
1. Ted Baker $525 (Pink)
2. Asos $123.18 (Yellow)
3. Top Shop $178 (Red)

White On White Outfit
Photo: Stockholm Streetstyle
If you were on the Internet today then you probably saw this famous lady's wedding photos. I love that she mixed some flair into her wedding and threw the ultimate white party (a party where everyone invited only wears white). White on white outfits are super stylish. It is a trend that always makes me take a second look.

Fashion Friday Quote
Love this quote so much! Alexander Wang is known for his amazing basics that are draped nicely and for using amazing fabrics. I would wear his clothes on a day off in a heart beat.
Also agree that we all get dressed up for work or for an event, but it's how you dress when there is nothing planned that is often the most interesting. There have definitely been many times where I have thrown together crazy outfits (some genius and others awful) and worn them out on my days off (weekends). My days off are definitely when I have had the most creative wardrobe freedom to just be me!
To practicing outfits this weekend! Let the creativity flow!

Vivienne Westwood Taxa Top
Came across this Vivienne Westwood Taxa Draped Cotton Top and was immediately inspired! Too often, tops are extremely boring, but this one is draped and would add texture to any outfit. Love!

Men's Peacoat
I've always thought there was something special about Peacoats, that makes anyone who wears them appear sophisticated and sleek in a professional way. Thus when a man I know recently asked me which coat he should get, I immediately recommended a Peacoat. A quick peruse around the internet and I came across this Kenneth Cole Reaction (on sale), this Banana Republic one and this JCrew coat. All perfect for the man who wants a sleek new coat this winter, because after all what man wouldn't want to look sophisticated and sleek?

Panama Hat
Hats are probably one of, if not the most overlooked women's fashion accessory. Even though it is one of the most simple ways to pull together an outfit while simultaneously hiding a bad hair day, I always think twice about wearing a hat. I give it a second thought because to be honest wearing a hat can be a commitment. I don't know about anyone else but once I put a hat on my hair goes flat and I pretty much can't take it off, until I'm home.... alone.
That being the other day while cruising through Urban Outfitters, I casually tried this Panama Style hat on and haven't been able to stop thinking about it since. Seriously considering ordering it and stepping up my hat game, even if it that means having to commit to wearing it all day.

Lace Up Boots
Instagram is a constant source of inspiration. It feels like sometimes images pop into my feed at exactly the right time. Take the picture above, posted to Nordstrom's Instagram page yesterday (who by the way is currently having a clearance sale through Veteran's Day).
Coincidentally, brown lace up boots just happened to be very high on my list of items to buy for Fall. Also called combat boots or military boots, they are super on trend! I thought I would find the perfect pair quickly, but that wasn't the case at first. Of course, once you find one pair you like a few more usually follow.
Click below to see what I found.
1. Frye Lace Up Boots $368
2. UGG "Marela" $225
3.Steve Madden $99.95 (featured in the picture above)

Weekend(er)
I have been searching for the perfect Weekender bag for a while now. It all started when I was on a road trip with a work colleague and had packed all of my overnight things in a tote. Of course my bag got knocked over in the trunk during the drive and most of my things got scattered. As I watched my deodorant and other toiletries strewn across the back of this person's car I swore to never pack an overnight bag in a tote again.
Thus my search began for a zip top bag that I could double as a carry on or overnight bag. I realized during my search that its actually hard to find something the right size, that isn't boring (black) and is affordable. After a couple of months of searching I think I have found the perfect one. It comes in many colors and is from a cool company called Everlane which is all about basic items, like T-shirts, sweaters and now weekenders! The company is very transparent to its customers. It lists how much everything really costs to make and includes the retail mark up. I've ordered from them before and the quality is really good all at an affordable price.
If you haven't checked them out I would for sure recommend it.
